Most red game meats are grass fed therefore low in fat, but what little fat there is is high in omega 3 fat. There is virtually no marbling in the meat so preparation of steaks is done best at high heat to medium rare at most.

How does caribou meat compare with beef?
Caribou do not store much of their fat in muscle tissue, so their meat is leaner than beef which often is "marbled" with fat. Caribou meat is considered more healthy than beef, and is quite tasty.

Our Inventory of Reindeer at the present time was imported from Greenland, from a fall harvest. The fall harvest will give the meat a milder flavour due to its diet of summer grasses and plants. By examining the nutrional information you will be able to see the some of the dramatic differences in this wonderful meat versus what we consider traditional , such as beef and pork. As an example, 100g of meat will provide with 105% of your daily B12 requirement.
